Maker's Choice VI began with a simple question: What would a Fenech 12 string D78 become if we built it purely because we wanted to?

Inspired by the timeless character of the classic 12 string, we set out to create our own interpretation. Not to recreate what had come before, but to build a guitar that honoured that tradition while reflecting everything we believe a handcrafted Fenech should be.

Rather than building to a customer's brief, this was a guitar we simply wanted to create. A one-off interpretation of the boutique 12-string, designed to capture the richness, shimmer and power of the classics while remaining unmistakably Fenech.

Crafted with Purpose

Built on our D78 platform, Maker's Choice VI combines an exceptional set of East Indian Rosewood with an old-growth Sitka Spruce soundboard, both selected from Aaron Fenech's personal Masterbuilt tonewood collection.

Chosen for their outstanding stiffness-to-weight ratio, responsiveness and tonal character, these timbers deliver remarkable projection, harmonic richness and clarity, making them the perfect foundation for a premium 12-string.

Engineered for Twelve Strings

Designing a great 12-string requires more than simply doubling the number of strings.

At its heart is a beautifully crafted five-piece laminated neck, combining genuine Mahogany and East Indian Rosewood. This construction provides exceptional stiffness and long-term stability while allowing more of the string's energy to be transferred into the soundboard, enhancing resonance, sustain and clarity.

As the contrasting laminations flow through the volute and sculpted heel, they become more than an engineering solution—they become one of the guitar's defining visual features.

Combined with our refined neck profile and meticulous setup, Maker's Choice VI delivers the expansive voice of a classic 12-string with the effortless playability expected of a handcrafted Fenech.

Boutique Detail

Classic rope-style purfling frames the body and rosette, while White Mother of Pearl crown inlays and a matching East Indian Rosewood headplate provide timeless elegance. Chrome Gotoh machine heads ensure precise tuning across all 12 strings, while Tusq appointments maximise consistency, sustain and tonal clarity.

Every detail has been chosen with purpose, allowing the craftsmanship and exceptional materials to speak for themselves.
